Although their cave was sealed shot by the explosion in chapter 11 of Jungle Queen, chapter 12 reveals that Bob Elliott (Edward Norris) and Chuck Kelly (Eddie Quillan) were once again saved by Lothel (Ruth Roman, who miraculously cleared a passage through the mountain to freedom. Back at Nazi headquarters, Godac (Clinton Rosemond) reveals that the all-powerful Tongghili sword is actually an imitation and that only he, Godac, knows the location of the real weapon. Tortured by one of Lang's (Douglass Dumbrille) Nazi thugs (Peter Helmers), the dying Judge of the Tongghili tribes manages to whisper his secret to Lothel. Bob, meanwhile, lets himself get caught by Maati (Napoleon Simpson) and his warriors in the hope that Chuck may get away. But the warriors discover the ruse and Bob's intrepid sidekick is chased into the river. As chapter 12 reaches its conclusion, Chuck finds himself at the mercy of hungry crocodiles.
