Filmmaker Peter Entell honors his late friend Josh Hanig's deathbed wish with this documentary produced to familiarize the young boy with the father he would never know. In 1998, filmmaker Josh Hanig lost his battle with pancreatic cancer -- leaving behind a wife and an infant child named Marshall. Before Hanig passed away, however, he implored his male friends to act as father figures for the child -- to take Marshall to ballgames, show him how to use a camera, and generally be around to offer parental support and guidance. Years before Marshall was born, Hanig and fellow filmmaker Entell had stricken up a close friendship while traveling through Europe. While both men would gradually drift apart -- Entell making a career for himself in Switzerland and Hanig starting a family in California -- Entell was determined to fulfill his old friend's dying request regardless of travel expenses. The result is a film produced to honor the memory of his late friend, and introduce young Marshall to the man who wanted nothing but the best for his child. Now, thanks to personal letters, candid videos, and vivid memories shared by Hanig's late wife, Entell opens up about his dearly departed friend while taking young Marshall on a trip to the various European locales that had cemented he and Hanig's friendship decades prior.
