Synopsis by Mark Deming
Singer/songwriter Joan Armatrading has been one of the most distinctive and influential artists in contemporary folk since releasing her first album in 1972. Her 2003 album Lovers Speak was her strongest album in years, proving Armatrading was still an artist who mattered, and this concert video, recorded without overdubs at a 2003 concert in Saratoga, CA, features a handful of songs from that album as well as classics from her back catalog. Joan Armatrading: Live -- All the Way From America includes the tunes "Tender Trap," "Blessed," "Prove Yourself," "Down to Zero," "The Weakness in Me," "Love and Affection," "Kissin' and a Huggin,'" and many more.
