synopsis
Jim Bludso is based on John Hay's poem about a Mississippi River engineer in the Civil War era. Wilfred Lucas plays the title character, and Olga Gray plays the Southern wife who leaves him when he joins the Union Army. She then marries a Mississippi River gambler who callously casts her off. Jim finds out about the gambler's betrayal of his former wife and he and the gambler fight it out in the engine room of Jim's boat, the Prairie Bell. The subsequent boat fire made for a spectacular climax.
