Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
The tumultuous life of Hollywood and international star Jean Seberg is chronicled in this straightforward documentary. Examined are her midwestern roots, the effect of the FBI's constant harassment had upon her, and the murky circumstances surrounding her fatal overdose of barbiturates. The story also looks at the beginning and end of her screen career, and into her political involvement with the Black Panthers. Not only are former party leaders interviewed, the film also presents actual FBI documents and wiretap transcripts of Seberg's activities. To examine the last few years of her short life, the filmmakers interviewed some of her associates.
