Jake Speed on AllMovie

In this limp action-adventure re-tread of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Romancing the Stone starring Wayne Christopher (who also co-wrote the script with director Andrew Lane) as the eponymous hero, an American girl is kidnapped in Paris and her sister Margaret (Karen Kopins) determines to track down the kidnappers. But she receives a note from Jake Speed telling her to meet him. Margaret thinks this is strange because "Jake Speed" is merely the hero of a collection of popular paperback thrillers. Margaret goes to meet "the real Jake Speed" and his partner Remo (Dennis Christopher) anyway. She is dubious but nevertheless accompanies the duo to Africa in order to save her sister from a white slavery ring.
