synopsis
Jacques Brel, a Belgian songwriter, is shown here through over twenty-six of his songs. Known for his sensitivity and sentimentality, he could also be charmingly cynical. This stage play had over 1800 performances in an off-Broadway venue. You'll only be able to guess why when you see this movie, which is a less than faithful rendition of the original play and tedious by contrast.
