Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
A Greek expatriate emigrates to Hungary with his wife after World War II. They start a new life and have a son and a daughter. After years in exile, the Greek resistance fighter yearns to return to his homeland. He visits Greece for the first time in 20 years and returns to Hungary to find that his daughter has chosen a poor Hungarian suitor over a wealthy Greek tycoon. The girl's brother arranges for the Hungarian suitor to be killed. When the family returns to Greece, the father is persecuted by the police and the new government for his involvement in the resistance movement years ago in this tragedy of political and social inequity.
