This lesser-known Soviet film is set just after the abortive 1919 Russian civil war. On an island abandoned by White Russian military forces, a tenacious communist sailor ekes out a solitary existence. What our hero doesn't know is that his enemies have mined the island, which is set to explode within hours. Also ignorant of this perilous situation is a White spy, who arrives on the island with his girlfriend in tow. The girl was supposed to entertain the White troops, but instead she falls in love with the Red sailor. When the three protagonist finally realize the danger they're in, they race against time to escape the island -- or, at the very least, to disarm the bombs.
