Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
This Finnish psychodrama uses elements of fantasy to explore the troubled relationship between a crippled father and his son. Juhani is a sailor. After a 20 year estrangement, he has come home to take his ailing father from the hospital and return him to their empty family farm. He also seeks to find a peaceful closure to his relationship with his father. At the farm, Juhani meets Marja, a young mother. As Juhani visits the old farm he is plagued by memories of life with his father. In the end, Juhani cries out "That's not how it was!"
