Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
The timeless camp of Reefer Madness is balanced by genuine mystery and absorbing drama in director Gabriel García Moreno's tale of a young couple locked into a damning world of vice. Introduced to the euphoric effects of morphine by a mysterious doctor, the couple soon becomes involved in a malevolent kidnapping plot while navigating a dark underworld of drug dens and forbidden pleasures. In this version of the film, Tijuana-based electronica specialists Nortec Collective retool the soundtrack for the film by blending traditional Mexican music with contemporary beats.
