Despite its title and the appearance of popular actress Setsuko Ogawa, this softcore pinku eiga film from Chusei Sone, one of Nikkatsu's most accomplished in-house directors, is not actually part of that studio's Irogoyomi Ooku Hiwa series. Ogawa plays an artist's wife who is raped on the banks of a river. The experience triggers her own artistic talents, and she finds catharsis in her violent artwork. Unfortunately, her paintings all include representations of her rapist, turning him into a local icon. The troubled criminal eventually seeks her out again for help, but is unable to resist the strange impulses within himself. Soichiro Maeno co-stars in this early effort from Sone, who had worked as an assistant to Seijun Suzuki in the 1960s and would extend Suzuki's influence through more than two dozen of his own films over the next 15 years.
