Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

On April 20, 1999, the attention of the American people turned to Jefferson County, Colorado as news began to emerge that two disgruntled Columbine High School students had gone on a deadly shooting rampage before ultimately turning the guns on themselves. While many would as how such a senseless tragedy could occur, however, the focus of the Threat Assessment Group (TAG) was to discern why Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris were driven to commit such a horrific crime. The subsequent investigation by authorities revealed that the duo had written extensively about their plans for that fateful day, yet insight into the motivation for the murders proved frustratingly elusive. In this investigation into Columbine High School tragedy, the filmmakers at The History Channel speak with noted forensic psychiatrist Park Dietz to probe the confluence of factors that ultimately contributed to one of the most horrific school shootings ever to occur on American soil.
