In this documentary, part of the Investigative Reports series from A&E, a "cold case" is looked at again and re-examined by law enforcement authorities. Narrated by Investigative Reports host and producer Bill Kurtis, this video studies the mysterious case of perpetual criminal James Rodney Hicks. Starting in 1977, Hicks began a series of criminal acts that police have been tracking for years. First, he killed his wife after she threatened to leave him. Five years later, he preyed on another young woman. This case led to Hicks' imprisonment for manslaughter, but only for six years. After he was paroled, another woman turned up missing. It took information volunteered by Hicks himself before police were able to get him in prison for all of his crimes.
