Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Director Nadav Levitan, a specialist in ethnic problem dramas, is the guiding hand behind The Intimate Story. One of the problems of collectivism is that there's no time for privacy. Chava Alberstein (a popular Israel folksinger) and Alex Peleg play a young married kibbutz couple who simply haven't the time to conceive a child. As their chances for genuine parenthood fade, Alberstein and Peleg begin fantasizing about other sexual partners. So high was the attendance rate at Israeli theatres in the early 1980s that even a slight piece like The Intimate Story could be assured a healthy profit.
