Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Not to be confused with the innumerable features of the same name, this release actually constitutes a version of Richard Strauss's 1923 Intermezzo, an autobiographical opera about marital discord. This production - mounted by The Glyndebourne Festival Opera in 1983 - stars John Pringle and Felicity Lott; The London Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Gustav Kuhn, provides symphonic accompaniment.
