Part of the In Search Of series, this documentary examines the killer bee. Originally from Africa, these bees were imported to South America for genetic experiments, where they were accidentally freed. Narrated by series host Leonard Nimoy, In Search of Killer Bees looks at the effect the killer bees have had on Rio de Janeiro and other parts of Brazil. Not only a danger to people, the bees are also a deadly threat to animals and plants. The video talks to insect experts about the possibility of destroying this population of deadly bees. Agriculturists and anthropologists also discuss the devastating effects the bees are having on all forms of life and what will happen in Brazil if nothing is done to contain or stop them.
