As composed by late 16th and early 17th century composer Stefano Landi, with a libretto by Giulio Rospigliosi, the three-act musical drama Il' Sant Alessio receives a new interpretation in this release. The stage production is mounted by the Baroque-oriented ensemble Les Arts Florissants, under the leadership of William Christie. Featured vocalists include Alain Buet, Pascal Bertin, Damien Guillon, Terry Wey and others.
