Synopsis by Hal Erickson

A follow-up to the popular BBC documentary series I Love the '70s, I Love the '80s slavishly followed the format established in the earlier program, guiding viewers through a ten-part, ten-hour retrospective of the decade in question. Such earmarks of the era as Spandau Ballet, MTV, Rubik's Cube, the TV series Dallas, and the British satellite service Sky TV were discussed and dissected. As was the case in I Love the '70s, each episode of this series was hosted by an icon of the era, including Larry Hagman, Adam Ant, Grace Jones, and even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Also known as I Love 1980s (with a "heart" symbol replacing the word "love" in the opening credits), I Love the '80s made its British TV bow on January 13, 2001.
