synopsis
Another in the interminable Franco and Ciccio series of Italian comedies, this early effort from cult director Lucio Fulci finds the boys (Franco Franchi, Ciccio Ingrassia) wrongfully accused of a crime. Naturally, they run off to join the Foreign Legion, where they fall under suspicion from their commanding officer after he finds out about the charges. The boys clear their reputations by foiling an assassination attempt on a sultan and hooking their commander up with pretty Rosalba Neri. This is the first of nine Franco and Ciccio comedies directed by Fulci, who also featured the pair in a segment of his 1963 anthology Gli Imbroglioni and several other films.
