Hot Stuff (1929)
by Hans J. Wollstein review

Assembled, rather than produced, in the wake of Shemp Howard's death, Hot Stuff gets a little mixed up when it comes to women's fashions. While Christine McIntire is all late '40s chic, Connie Cezon and Evelyn Lovequist, as Uranian officers no less, sport the hairdos of the mid-'50s. Still and all, the comedy delivers the necessary punch, including seven head conks, two eye pokes, and no less than 23 slaps. Joe Palma doubled for Shemp in several scenes.
