This program is part of the popular series from the History Channel that investigates some of civilization's unsolved mysteries and controversies. This episode investigates the events surrounding the death of Karen Silkwood. Silkwood became a Union leader in the early 1970s, fighting against the conditions at the Oklahoma based Kerr-McGee Company at which she worked. Some workers claimed they were being contaminated by plutonium because of unsafe working conditions at the nuclear facility. Silkwood's death while on her way to deliver evidence in the case caused suspicions she was murdered. This documentary considers the evidence, using archival film footage, photographs, personal accounts, forensic materials, and interviews with journalists, union representatives, and historians.
