synopsis
A German war bride experiences prejudice in her adopted country in this long-lost silent drama. Returning to his small Midwestern town with a German bride, war-hero Johnny Haines (Wallace MacDonald) discovers that his own father, the town mayor (Charles Clary), is still fighting Germany and refuses to recognize his new daughter-in-law Hilda (Greta Von Rue). Publicly chastised by Johnny, who turns down a medal of honor, the elder Haines finally comes to his senses and the family is reunited.
