Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
Sir Winston Churchill first proved himself as a war journalist during several conflicts before becoming well-known for his escape from his Boer captors. His stories about his capture and escape thrilled many readers near the dawning of the twentieth century. Once he became England's Prime Minister, Churchill displayed remarkable diplomacy and singular statesman skills as World War II played out around the globe. Churchill had been one of the few to warn the world about the Nazi threat before it began to unfold. This video starts with a review of Churchill's war adventures and concludes with footage of his 1965 funeral.
