Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Nan Perrine (Molly McIntyre), a salesgirl in a department store, is accused of stealing by her boss, James Irving (Martin Alsop). However, Robert Kirby (Richard Lynn), the D.A., believes that she is innocent and gives her a job as social secretary to his wife, Violet (Gerda Holmes). Nan discovers that Violet is seeing a number of men behind her husband's back, including Irving. One night while Kirby is away, Irving comes by and gets in an argument with Violet. She kills him and puts the blame on Nan, who runs away. When Kirby finds evidence that Violet was the murderer, she confesses and then takes off to live with another of her admirers, Ralph Barrett (P.J. LeMae). Here, she encounters Nan once again, and the shock and guilt causes her to have a heart attack and die. Later, Nan and Kirby marry.
