Hell Fire Austin (1932)
by Hans J. Wollstein review

Hell Fire Austin earns an "above average" tag mainly because of some fine photography by the always welcome Ted McCord (and his assistant Joe Novak) and the Lone Pine locations. On the debit side are some truly bad supporting performances by leading lady Ivy Merton (Ivy Merton?) and Nat Pendleton, the former a rank amateur and the latter -- well, suffice it to say, Pendleton remains a matter of taste. Ken Maynard is his usually stalwart self, however, and the B-Western regulars -- Charles "Slim" Whitaker, Jack Perrin, Jack Rockwell, et al. -- add their customary brawn to the proceedings.
