Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Pretty May Allison stars in this Metro melodrama as Mary Manchester, a department store clerk. One day she faints, and, as a result, is fired for neglecting a customer. It just so happens that Mary could be the twin of wealthy Adelaide Rutherford. Her cruel husband, Hasbrouck (Walter Long), holds sixty million dollars in trust, along with Jasper Haig (John H. Elliott) and Dr. Babcock (Lawrence Grant). When Adelaide dies, the money is supposed to go to her brother, Stanford Gorgas (Darrell Foss). The three men want to keep control of the money, so when they realize that Adelaide is dying, they plot to put Mary in her place. They convince the innocent girl that her part in their plan will help hundreds of working people. Gorgas begins to suspect something is wrong. Eventually, he finds out Mary's story and rescues her from the men. The plot is exposed, and Gorgas and Mary wind up together.
