Western star Harry Carey wrote the screenplay to this rather weak drama. It's one of the rare instances that Carey takes off his cowboy hat and chaps for a role, but his character, even though he's not called Cheyenne Harry, is the same as always -- a good-hearted, human kind of guy. David Brent (Carey) pulls a dead body out of a burning cabin and recognizes it as Jim Drew (Arthur Millett), who once saved his life. He feels he owes the dead man a debt, and when he finds a letter from his daughter, Lorelei (Mignonne Golden), announcing her arrival in San Francisco, he goes to meet her. Lorelei, who hasn't seen her father in years, mistakes Brent for him, and Brent, not wanting to tell her that Drew is dead, lets her believe it. He takes her to his ranch, where his behavior draws the suspicion of Bob Harding (Charles Le Moyne), a young engineer. Harding finds out that Brent is not Lorelei's father and believes he has ulterior motives. Brent, whose intentions have always been honorable, gives Harding a beating. Lorelei finally finds out that her father is dead, and she admits that she has fallen in love with Brent.
