This classical music release features the opening concert of the European Mozart Ways 2006 celebrations, which took place in Rovereto, Italy. The location has tremendous historical significance: it was in Rovereto that 13-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart held his first concert in Italy, on Christmas night 1769. The program at hand celebrates the 18th century composer's friendship with the Lodron family, with symphonic interpretations by The Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento of two pieces that Mozart composed for the Countess of Lodron and her daughters: Concerto in F for Three Pianos and Orchestra, KV 242 "Lodron-Konzert" and Divertimento n.10 in F major, KV 247 "Erste Lodronische Nachtmusik. The program also features an interpretation of Michael Haydn's Symphony n.28 in C Major, MH 384.
