Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

In this somewhat bizarre and humorous drama, schoolboy Hans (Koen de Bouw) had plans to go to university, but after a recent setback to the family's fortunes, he and his father join forces to support the family, taking jobs as garbage collectors. Hans has all kinds of ideas about how to improve the management of the system, but his bosses don't take kindly to his views, so he winds up unemployed. Meanwhile, his father (Jim van der Woude) has taken ill, and only a risky and expensive operation which the state medical system will not pay for can give him back the use of his legs. Hans gets a job at a hospital, steals medical supplies, and studies how to perform the operation using birds and stray dogs to practice on. He then performs the surgery on his dad at home.
