Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

This gentle, humorous, and at times moving documentary chronicles the personal journey of filmmaker Ruth Ozeki Lounsbury following the death of her grandmother in Japan. After the funeral Lounsbury is given a few of her cremated grandmother's bones to remember her by. Lounsbury keeps those bones in a closet for five years and some of the film centers around her dilemma as to what to do with the artifacts: should she give them to her mother, who did not go to the funeral and doesn't like looking in the past, or should she keep them for herself?
