Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Dramatist Dick Warrington (King Baggot) is responsible for the success of actress Kate Challoner (Clara Beyers). She comes over to his apartments one evening to thank him, and to announce her engagement. By coincidence, her fiancé John Bennington (Joseph Castellanos) also stops by, and Kate hides so he won't find her there and mistake it for a liason. But the situation has upset her so much that she is forced to stay the night at Warrington's. This incident comes back to haunt the both of them after Kate's marriage and the Benningtons' return to his Southern home in Herculaneum. Warrington comes down for a visit and becomes involved with Bennington's sister Patty (Edna Hunter). He decides to stick around and eventually runs for mayor. But the opposition dredges up the night when Kate stayed at his apartment, puts a seamy spin on it, and features it in a newspaper story. Bennington refuses to believe it, and Warrington slugs his gossipy opponent. In spite of all this, Warrington gets elected and becomes engaged to Patty.
