Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Produced for TV New Zealand, the four-part Greenstone starred Simone Kessell as beautiful Maori princess Marama. Aware of her duties obligations as the daughter of the Maori king, Marama nonetheless found herself torn between her people and the white "intruders" when she fell in love with powerful English nobleman Sir Geoffrey Halford (Richard Coyle). Making matters more dicey, Marama became the romantic bone of contention between Sir Geoffrey and rough-hewn gun trader Sam Markham (Matthew Rhys). Greenstone aired in both New Zealand and Australia in 1998.
