Away in New York on legal business for his old law firm, Oliver (Eddie Albert) receives a startling phone call from wife Lisa (Eva Gabor) back in Hooterville. It seems that, during Oliver's absence, someone has left a baby on the Douglases' doorstep. The situation rapidly becomes complicated and hopelessly convoluted, all because the flustered Lisa has omitted one vital detail: the "little visitor" is actually a baby dog!
