An aspiring pro-baseball player named Mikey (Alexander Emmet) attempts to get out from under the shadow of his alcoholic father. But after a night of drinking at a Bronx bar Mikey finds himself caught up in an attempted murder. He consults an old friend who is now a lawyer, but his friend might have ulterior motives in helping Mikey, and his dreams of success in the Major Leagues become increasingly endangered by the swirling tumult around him.
