synopsis
The star power of Gustav Frohlich helps to smooth over the rough spots of Gleisdreieck (Dangerous Crossing). Much of the story takes place in and around the Berlin subway system. Frohlich plays subway employee Hans Scheffler, who rescues would-be suicide Gerda Volkmann (Heli Finkenzeller). Falling in love with the girl, Hans tries to get to the root of her problems, which turns out to be her no-good brother Max (Paul Hoffmann). Everyone's problems are solved when Max obligingly dies during a climactic shootout with the constabulary. Otto Wernicke, star of many a Fritz Lang opus, steals scenes left and right as the hero's hearty father.
