Synopsis by Mark Deming
Natalia Bessmertnova and Mikhail Lavrosky star in this production of the classic ballet, a romantic tragedy in which an innocent girl has her heart and her virtue stolen from her, leading her ghost to seek revenge for her betrayal. Giselle was recorded during a performance at the famed Bolshoi Theater; Yuri Grigorovich was the choreographer.
