The funeral of Cinnamon, pampered pet cat of the blubbery Babette Dell (Sally Struthers), ends up causing more friction between Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and her mother Emily (Kelly Bishop). Meanwhile, Lorelai's own daughter, Rory (Alexis Bledel), finds herself besieged with heavy emotional baggage in the form of her off-and-on boyfriend, Dean (Jared Padalecki), not to mention the growing affection between Rory's English teacher Max Medina (Scott Cohen) and Lorelai. And Michel (Yanic Truesdale), the pompous concierge at Independence Inn, is nervous over the arrival of a group of fellow Frenchmen.
