Synopsis by Cavett Binion
This lackluster Canadian quickie involves a trio of unappealing young snowmobilers who seek shelter at a creepy, run-down hotel occupied by a mysterious old woman and her homicidal son. Worse, there's an evil spirit lurking about -- not actually a ghost, it's a manifestation of the wendigo, a powerful flesh-eating demon described in Indian legends. (We know this because our soon-to-be victims find a book on the subject conveniently left on the premises.) This monster is never actually shown, thus saving the filmmakers a bundle in the effects department. What's left is a standard Friday the 13th slasher scenario, with copious bloodletting substituting for suspense.
