synopsis
This performance of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2 in C Minor (1895) took place at Gewandhaus zu Leipzig between May 17th-18th, 2011. In addition to central work by the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, it features vocal performances by mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly and soprano Christiane Oelze, and additional choral work by Berliner Rundfunkchor, MDR Rundfunkchor and GewandhausChor. Henning Kasten directs.
