synopsis
Khachaturian's popular ballet comes from the stage to the screen for the first time ever in this release of the stage work that introduced the world to the "Sabre Dance." Innovatively choreographed by Boris Eifman, this 1980 version of Gayne jettisons the original scenario to detail the shifting relationships between Gayne, Armen, and Giko. Larisa Tuisova and Alexander Rumyantsev star in a production featuring the corps de ballet and orchestra of the Latvian Opera and Ballet Company.
