This three-episode OVA was created in 1994 by condensing and revamping the original 1979 Gatchaman series into a shorter form through editing and dubbing. It modernizes some areas of the series, while maintaining essentially the same storyline. The three episodes, "The Dragon King," "The Red Specter," and "The Final Countdown," follow the Science Ninja Team -- a group of five superhero teenagers led by a peace-loving scientist -- as they do battle with the Alien Galactors, an evil race bent on ruling the galaxy with an iron fist.
