Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Gaesschen zum Paradies (Paradise Lane) is a Czech-made vehicle for Austrian comedian Hans Moser. The star is cast as Tobias Halinger, a dog-catcher operating out of a slum community known as Paradise Lane. Alone and unhappy, Tobias is given a new lease on life when he befriends a small boy (Peter Bosse) and his dog. He even gives up his much-maligned profession when he refuses to turn in the mutt to the authorities. Not a few observers noted the striking resemblance between Gaesschen zum Paradies and the Charlie Chaplin-Jackie Coogan starrer The Kid.
