Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Intrigued by the manner in which former convicts readjust to life on the outside after serving their time behind bars, filmmakers Adam Blank and Brian Huston follow four African American ex-inmates during the first year of their release. There are over two million Americans currently in prison, and roughly 1,700 of those inmates are released back onto the streets every day. But how does one address the problems of reentry, and what truly defines success when it comes to reintegrating into society? When all is said and done, do all of the tax dollars spent on keeping these criminals incarcerated really make them any less dangerous once their sentence has been served?
