Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Based partly on fact, the Australian miniseries The Fremantle Conspiracy was set in the 1870s. Lloyd Morris starred as John O'Reilly, one of group of Irish outlaws rounded up by the authorities and transported to Australia. Eventually, O'Reilly managed to escape to America, but a strong sense of duty and obligation drew him back down under to rescue his still-imprisoned chums. Conceived by Thomas Keneally for the Seven Network, the two-part, four-hour Fremantle Conspiracy originally aired in January of 1992.
