synopsis
This compilation film is comprised of three Austrian films (Sissi; Sissi, Die Junge Kaiserin; and Sissi, Schicksalsjahre Einer Kaiserin) that have been spliced up and recombined. Together they tell the story of Austria's young emperor, Franz Josef. The story offers a special focus upon his romance with the princess of Bavaria. Franz Josef was greatly influenced by the princess. It was she that convinced him into making peace with other European nations.
