Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The British Forbidden Cargoes is a period piece, set in the Cornwall of two centuries ago. Clifford McLaglen plays a ruthless smuggler who has a habit of killing anyone who gets in his way. High on his "hit list" is the son of a hated local squire. McLaglen decides to spare the son's life when he falls in love with the boy's stepsister, played by Peggy Hyland. Unlike many slapdash British productions of the era, Forbidden Cargoes could have passed as a slick, accomplished Hollywood production.
