Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
Each December, Las Vegas plays host to the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). American and Canadian cowboys practice long hours every year in hopes of qualifying to compete for the NFR prize money and professional acclaim. Walt Garrison and others host this review of some of the most remarkable clips filmed during the competitions held between 1979 and 1987. There are cowboys featured who hold on for lengthy rides while others meet with sudden, embarrassing defeat. Viewers have the chance to personally discover why these competitions sell out so far in advance each year, even though the program is annually televised to millions.
