Rugged leading man Harry Morey tracks down a gang of counterfeiters in this detective drama. Ralph Cornell (Morey) poses as a naturalist and boards at the home of a widow (Eleanor Barry). The counterfeiters are doing their dirty work in the cellar of the house, and their leader, Aaron Prine (Sidney Dalbrook), immediately suspects that Cornell is after them. There is a romance between Cornell and Betty Quall (Lucy Fox), the widow's daughter, but Prine, in an attempt to get rid of Cornell, makes him look bad in her eyes. Cornell discovers the counterfeiting machine in the cellar and has to hold the gang at bay single-handedly until the other detectives arrive. After their capture, things are cleared up between Cornell and Betty.
