Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Find the Woman was adapted from a short story by the prolific O. Henry. Set in the old French Quarter of New Orleans, the story focuses upon opera diva Madeline Renard (Alice Joyce). Preparing to appear in a production of Faust, Madeline is in need of some stage jewelry, and to that end she purchases a replica pearl necklace from an elderly jewelry. But when the jeweler turns up dead, it is learned that he has been robbed -- and that the jewels in Madeline's possession may be all too real. Newspaper music critic Maurice Dumar (Walter McGrail), a longtime enemy of Madeline's, investigates the story, and in the process falls in love with the heroine. Find the Woman was remade in 1922, with the same director, Tom Terriss, at the helm.
